GREAT PROGRAMS START WITH GREAT PEOPLE

Meet the passionate coaches, leaders, and mentors behind Skyhawks East Bay North—and discover how our commitment to quality coaching creates exceptional sports experiences for every young athlete.

Our Passionate Team

Great programs start with great people. At Skyhawks East Bay North, our management and coaching team is the heart of everything we do. Led by Billy Goldstein (aka Coach Billy Bob), who has been part of the Skyhawks family since 2010, our team brings years of experience, energy, and a shared passion for creating exceptional youth sports experiences.

From our experienced management team and Area Directors to our program leaders, coaches, and developing professionals in our TEAM Internship Program, every member of our staff plays an important role in the Skyhawks experience. We invest in training, mentorship, curriculum development, and hands-on leadership to ensure our coaches are prepared to do much more than teach a sport.

Our goal is to surround young athletes with positive role models who know how to teach, encourage, motivate, and make sports FUN. Together, we create welcoming environments where kids of all skill levels can build confidence, develop athletic and life skills, make friends, and discover a lifelong love of sports through the power of PLAY!

Comprehensive Coach Training

Great coaches aren’t simply hired—they’re developed. At Skyhawks East Bay North, we believe our staff is our greatest asset, which is why we invest heavily in the training, mentorship, and continued development of every coach who joins our team.

Our training process begins with an intensive training week, followed by a five-week introductory period where new coaches gain hands-on experience alongside seasoned Skyhawks professionals. From there, development continues through seasonal training sessions, workshops, practical instruction, and ongoing mentorship covering coaching techniques, curriculum delivery, safety protocols, leadership, and child development.

We believe coaching is an art that takes time, experience, and dedication to master. That’s why we strive to develop career-oriented coaches and full-time program leaders, creating opportunities for talented staff to grow within our organization rather than treating coaching as simply a seasonal job. By investing in our people and retaining great coaches, we’re able to build upon their skills year after year.

The result is a team of confident, knowledgeable, and passionate youth sports professionals who understand how to do more than teach athletic skills. They know how to connect with kids, create positive learning environments, build confidence, and make every Skyhawks experience memorable through the power of PLAY!

Developing the next generation of coaches, leaders, and sports professionals.

T.E.A.M. Internship Program

Our T.E.A.M. Internship Program provides passionate college students with hands-on experience and mentorship as they explore careers in coaching, teaching, leadership, entrepreneurship, and sports management.

Through our partnership with California Premier Sports, interns work alongside experienced Skyhawks professionals while receiving advanced training in coaching, leadership, program management, and youth development. Rather than learning from the sidelines, T.E.A.M. interns put those skills into action every day on the fields and courts of our Skyhawks programs.

The program creates a pathway for aspiring professionals to learn, lead, and grow, while helping Skyhawks identify and develop talented young coaches who can become the future leaders of our organization and the youth sports industry.
